We provide a specialised 24 hour supported recovery service to 5 adults with dual diagnosis, having mental health; learning disabilities and also alcohol problems. Waxlow Crescent is a large modern house situated in a quiet residential area, close to Greenford, Ealing Broadway and Hounslow. The property has three bedrooms which are ensuite, two of those bedrooms are located on the ground floor providing easy access for people with physical disabilities. On the first floor, we have 3 large bedrooms, one ensuite and one bathroom.
We are committed in developing and maintaining a high standard of care and support which is tailored to meet the needs of individual people with a learning disability and mental health conditions. We enable people to live within their own accommodation and to lead a lifestyle of their choosing.
The tenant’s interest and safety is of upmost importance to Crowthorne Care and the fore front of our services. We ensure that they are fully involved in the day to day running of their home. We encourage tenants to give their views and to ensure that their needs are being met through daily one to one; key working sessions and monthly tenant meetings.
We offer a wide range of supported services, including:
- Support to access and integrate into the community;
- Support for shopping related tasks;
- Collect benefits and support with the payment of household bills;
- Support with self-medication;
- Support to ensure the individual is taking regular meals
- Support with cooking and /or cleaning;
- Support to complete laundry;
- Support to complete paperwork / forms;
- Provide an escort service for example: to attend medical / GP appointments.
- Provide support to attain recovery goals
- Provide access to employment and educational opportunities. We work closely with Accession Club; MIND and MENCAP who provide a varieties of career and recreational activities opportunities that tenants can access to.
- Support to acquire new daily living skills
- Counselling support to ensure their emotional; physical and mental health state remains stable
- Support in dealing with challenging behaviours. Teaching tenants techniques to regulate their emotions and behaviour without being challenging or aggressive.
- Support in improving their independence skills and stepping down to lesser supported units.
- Support to access alcohol rehabilitation team
Our staff are experts in working with people who have dual diagnosis. We will support the person to live in their own home. We will help them to be independent and have choice and control about how they want to live. Each tenant will have a detailed support plan and activity programme which is supported by their keyworker and staff team.
